War Thunder Team Composition

War Thunder is a simulation game where you are either a pilot or driver in the settings of World War I, World War II and the Korean War.

Running over the air mode first, there are set objectives unique to each map which include: destroy all enemy planes, destroy all marked ground targets, destroy the enemy's bases and airfield and in dominion mode, occupy the marked landing strips. Offering various ways to win a match, this appealed to me due to the fact that I and most likely everyone doesn't want to play the same sort of game style over and over. With 383 air planes and 145 ground vehicles all modelled with characteristics received from museums, historic archives and files across the world, War Thunder holds the record for most number of real life modelled air planes and tanks in a game. With the countless of air planes offered across five nations, they all fall under the categories of:

Fighters

Fighters play one of two roles in the game. The first is to form up with their wingman or into a formation and climb together whilst on the look out for tell tale signs of the enemy where in realistic and simulator modes, can only be identified at close distance and seen as a black spotted in the sky. Fighters tend to engage other fighters in dogfights (close quarter fighting), are escorts for high altitude bombers protecting them from enemy fighters or provide cover for ground attackers. Fighters are the most played role in the game.

Bombers

Bombers fit the objective play style in the game. Instead of engaging in dogfights, bomber pilots group up together in a close formation allowing their gunners to focus their fire on preying fighters and make their runs on bases, the enemy airfield and other important ground targets. Being able to switch into first person view in the gunners position, bombers provide a unique style of game play. Bombers often require the protection of allied fighters to keep enemy fighters from getting easy kills on their slow lumbering plane.

Attackers

Attackers, the most least played role in War Thunder. This is due to the characteristics of attackers being slow, horrid turn times, and fairly large, they're sitting ducks to the popular role of the fighter. Attackers, with the use of their large cannons differ from bombers who use ordnances (bombs) to destroy targets. Aiming for ground vehicles, attackers are by far the hardest role to master due to the sluggish characteristics of their planes, needing to "fly on the deck" meaning hugging the ground to strafe ground targets, and are easy prey for diving fighters.

In ground forces mode, the objectives are identical to that of the air mode. Team compositions in this mode comprise of:

Light Tanks

Light tanks are used as a default tank when you first start ground forces. However they're used for their mobility during the mid to late stages of the game. This helps with flanking tactics, rushing to capture bases and scouting out enemies from vantage points. Although they have great mobility, the main draw back for light tanks is their lack of heavy armament. Unable to penetrate thick armour, light tanks opt for attacking other light tanks and AA vehicles.

Medium/Heavy Tanks

The most played type of vehicles along side tank destroyers, the medium/heavy tank class serves as a brute force method to win games. With the strongest cannons in the game alongside the tank destroyers, they pack a punch and will decimate lighter vehicles. However due to their immense offensive power, med/heavy tanks suffer from long reload times and sluggish movement making them easy prey if caught out or pinned down in the open. This class serves as a zone protector once the light tanks have captured the base.

Tank Destroyers

Tank destroyers are another heavy hitter class in the ground forces mode in War Thunder. Living true to its name they roam around or sit in vantage points destroying passing tanks. Although tank destroyers have immense fire power, just like their med/heavy tank counterparts, they face long reload times, large recoil from firing their cannons, small angle of attack, and have relatively thinner armour. Although the tank destroyers have a number of negatives, they serve as a deterrent for the popular medium/heavy tank class.

Anti-Aircraft Vehicles

In ground forces mode, once a player has reached 2, 3 and 4 kills, they can hop into a fighter, attacker or bomber for 45seconds or until they're shot down. This serves as an effect method for scouting enemies and destroying clusters of enemy vehicles. The anti-aircraft vehicles purpose is to shoot down air planes with their rapid fire machine guns and low calibre cannons. They're also used to fill in the light tank role due to their high mobility. However, one direct shot from a medium/heavy tank or tank destroyer will bust up anti aircraft vehicles due to the non-existent armour.

Offering many types of aircraft and vehicles, War Thunder offers a diverse game play in terms of each team's composition. Each type of vehicle/plane will benefit from each other if team work and communication is applied concluding in an all rounded team or a specialised team of fighters, bombers, and med/heavy tanks.

Age of Empires II Team Composition

When starting a new game of Age of Empires II, you will start in the dark ages with three villagers and one scout. In order to increase population potential for your civilization, you will need the villagers to build three houses. Meanwhile, allow the scout to search for resources and uncover more of the map. After the villagers have built the houses, have them start collecting food, If the food source is forage or fish, have them build a mill next to it in order to collect food more effectively. Afterwards you should continue to create more villagers and have them collect more wood, once you have reached 60 units of wood, you should create a barracks and train some militia in order to protect your village, these units will be upgraded later when you have evolved through to a different age. Soon after this you will be able to build a lumber camp near the forest, which will be needed later to build more houses. You have to be careful about depleting your sources of food too early on into the game, therefore you should shift from hunting and gathering to farming and agriculture once you have the available resources. By now  you should have a total population of 35 (1 scout, 14 farmers and 15 woodcutters). There is no need to worry about gold or stone at this point, as they take too long to gather and cannot be used until the next age. You should then advance to the feudal age as soon as possible.

Diablo 3 Team Composition

Diablo series is one of best series game under Blizzard Entertainment, which game developer company already have Warcraft series and StarCraft series. The development of diablo 3 took about ten years, so it is a terrible Diablo loyal gamer like me waiting for. Same as other massive multiplayer online (MMO) game, the attracting point of Diablo 3 is play with others, and room of party only allow four players. It hard for killing a boss if do not have team work, and everyone will keep losing money and decreasing the durability of armors. Therefore, the team composition is important.

In Diablo 3, there are six character class let us choose: Demon hunter, Monk, Wizard, Witch Doctor, Barbarian and (Crusader *added on the expansion pack). Majorly people choosing character base on why type of team position they want. Demon hunter and Wizard providing high damage to monster but with low armor which is easy to die. Monk, Barbarian and Crusader have different sort of supporting skill such as stun the enemy, increase others armor and healing. Thus, they always call as a tank in gamer speaking which run at the front and blocking dem
on attack other players. Witch Doctor is a special character class from others, most of skill is summon pet for fight and it is an interesting character class. But sometime we will alone when friend offline and no interest join for public game, so that the system of follower help us in a solo game. Similar as main character class’ role, we can employ a tank or support when necessary.

Demon Hunter
Demon hunter is a character class strong with using bow, because of powerful skill with arrow. Long range attack let demon hunter have time for killing enemy before come close, therefore high damage weapon and armor with decease skill cool down effect are demon hunter needed.

Wizard
Same as other games, Wizard control different elements of power: fire, cold, poison and arcane etc. It give players feel cool when demons attacked by a Wizard due to unpredictable skill setting. They can providing huge damage from far distance like demon hunter but can teleport to somewhere as avoid hurt.

Monk
Monk is a tank in a team which having high statistic on damage resistance. The pet summoned by Monk also help a lot on distract monsters. A type of skill call mantra allow increases the dodge chance of himself and all allies, reflect melee damage back at monster, increases the Life regeneration of himself and all allies or causes additional damage.

Barbarian
The popular character class of game, that focusing on run at the front, fighting with demons madly. The armors and skill with hit on life or life steal is importance for Barbarian. Stun or fear to enemy always offer opportunity for teammates combat or escape.

Witch Doctor
Witch Doctor having some skill that summon pet like zombie, vermin, skulls etc. The big allies create a faster way of slaying monster on a normal level, but those pet are weak when facing boss when probably die a second. Another disadvantage of pet is they attracting enemy while your team have not prepare for fight, and others may blame for that.

Crusader
Crusader is a new character in new expansion of Diablo 3 which is reaper of souls. This class generates wrath with having pretty high damage. As the base setting on Crusader is a one handed weapon and a shield, so that initial become a tank in a team.
Game Mode

Following the story of Diablo, by doing quest and killing boss are what we do in normal. Sometime, player are focus on slaying demons for getting experience, some else aim on run for treasure. In order to let players play on a same target, there are three game mode option while we click join public game: Monster slaying, Brawling (which is PVP mode) and KeyWarden (which is treasure run’ mode).

For some those people who chasing for excitement, Hardcore Mode is what they should play. In the hardcore mode, it is the same for normal but you only have one life and lose everything when your character dead. Lots of streamer who will choose hardcore mode, since viewer love and want to see a streamer crying when character dead.

World of Warcraft Team Composition

World of Warcraft (WoW) is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG) developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Like most games in this genre, World of Warcraft has a myriad of different classes with different abilities and each performing a certain role in the game. The game itself has many aspects in which the player can explore and is divided between Player versus Environment (PvE) and Player versus Player (PvP). Depending on those specific aspects of the game, the team composition will be different. The classes in World of Warcraft are Druid, Hunter, Mage, Rogue, Priest, Warrior, Paladin, Death Knight, Monk, Warlock and Shaman.

In order to gain a better understanding on team play in WoW, one must understand the roles and capabilities of each class. The 3 roles in WoW are tank, healer and damage dealer. The job of a tank is to protect the rest of the team by taking damage in place of the other members. The healer's job is to keep everyone alive through the use of protective and healing spells, while the damage dealers' attempt to kill the opposition. The important thing to note is that each class has three 'specialisations' which allows them to specialise in one of the above roles, which give rise to pure damage class (E.g. mage & hunter) or a hybrid class which can choose more than one of the above roles (E.g. Druid, Paladin).

PvE

Raiding

Raiding is an important part of the PvE aspect of the game. This is where a team of players (between 10 and 25) come together to try to kill a common boss monster. There is no set composition for this but a general guideline is to bring around 10% tank, 30% healer and the rest as damage dealers. Of course, this number can vary depending on each group and the strategy for each boss. Most successful groups also bring at least one of each of the 11 classes as they all have unique abilities which can prove useful for the group.

Dungeon

Dungeons are similar to raids, except on a smaller scale. Most dungeons have specific objectives to complete and is generally run by 5 players. Dungeons are a lot easier than raids so team composition does not matter as much in this mode, but the basic accepted composition is to bring 1 tank, 1 healer and 3 damage dealers.

Group Questing

Group questing is not such a common part of the game anymore, but for casual players it can still make up a large portion of their game time. Group questing is generally not very challenging so there is no real need for a tank, but a healer could be required for harder quests.

PvP

Arena

Arena in WoW is pitting 2 teams (2v2, 3v3 & 5v5) against each other in a fight to the death. Arena team compositions are a lot more complicated than teams in the other aspects of the game. This is because the teams are so small that in order to succeed, one must build a team of class with good synergy. E.g. For 3v3 most successful teams run with 2 damage dealers and 1 healer. However, that is only the surface as there are many damage dealers and healers to choose from. One must choose what sort of strategy they wish to deploy before designing their team. Strong and popular compositions which do well in a specific 'season' are called Flavour of the Month Comps and often warrant team compositions made specifically to counter them.

Battleground & Rated Battleground

Battlegrounds are where 2 teams of 10-15 are to fight against each other for objectives such as Capture the Flag, King of the Hill and more. Like raids, most teams prefer to take at least one of each class in order to maximise the arsenal of abilities they have access to, though specific compositions depend on the group leader to choose. Most teams like to bring 1 tank and at least 3 healers.

World PvP (WPvP)

WPvP is where a group of players attempt to kill players of the other faction in the open world, where they are usually unaware and minding their own business. Classes which can stealth and are hard to detect such as rogues and druids are good for this. It is not uncommon to find WPvP groups consisting of mostly these two classes. However, since the targets are usually unaware and/or low level, pretty much class/role can be utilised for this.

As discussed, each class and role will have a specific use in the different game modes, making each of them equally important and necessary in order to overcome each of the obstacles. A team composition with good synergy is the key to a successful team in this game, no matter if they player is into PvE or PvP.

LOL Team Composition

League of Legends (LoL) is a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games. It was released at October 27, 2009. In the game, players assume the role of a character, called a 'champion', with unique abilities, battling with other player-controlled champions, in the form of 5 vs 5. There are 127 champions to select in the league right now and new champions are coming out over time. The way for the victory is to kill the enemy nexus, which is extremely hard to reach single handedly.(It still happens sometimes though) Therefore, to win a game, we cannot ignore the significance of team composition, on the basis of which we can carry out big plays and team engagements.
Image result for league of legendsImage result for league of legends

This year is the 5th season since LoL released. After enormous practices and matches from various kinds of players so far, the most efficient and effective team composition for the victory is basically fixed. There are three lanes in the match map, which is called Summoner's Rift. And mainly players are distributed like:
Top lane: One of players in the team will go to top lane. Top lane player can obtain solo experience and gold. And top lane can cover only the top half of the map so usually they can't support their teammates timely if they fight at some random points in the map. Therefore, farming is the task above all for a top lane player. They will mostly pick some tanky champions or late game champions. After several minutes of farming, they're gonna save the team in the team fights.

Jungle: There are many neutral monsters in Summoner's Rift who will provide experience and gold. To make the use of these resources, one of the players will go to farm in the jungle, as a 'Jungler'. As monsters spread all over the map and outside of the players' sights. Junglers are always moving in the mist of war and not seeable by the enemy team. Using this condition, junglers can initiate attacks along with teammates in lane unexpectedly.
Mid lane: One of the players will go to farm in mid lane. Mid lane players can cover almost the whole map so they have to support other teammates once a fight happens near them. Mid lane players will mostly pick some mages or assassins with strong burst in damage in order to win small-scale fights in the early game, which can help capture advantages for the team and win the game finally.
AD Carry: One of the players will go AD Carry, standing for Attack Damage Carry. As its name suggests, AD Carry players use champions who deal damage by basic attacks. There are a number of shooters in the league who use their basic attacks to smash enemy team but are very weak at defense and easy to kill. AD Carry goes in bottom lane and takes the golds to reach necessary item builds. Then they can really carry the game in the team fights as if they make themselves in a safe position.
Support: As we mentioned before, AD Carries are weak at defense and easy to kill so they need someone to protect them. The last one in the team will go as 'Support' in the game, also going in bottom lane but they don't take any gold. The only task of them is to protect AD Carry, ensuring he is farming safely and eliminate the threatens from junglers.
Every player plays a key role in a game. A good team composition should consist of tanks, damage dealers (including physical damage and magic damage) and supports. A good player should be multi-functional and help the team frequently. Only with the joint efforts from all the teammates can a team acquire the victory ultimately.

Dota 2 Team Composition

Dota 2 is a multiplayer action RTS game, which includes 102 heros, and there will be five versus five in each game. In this case, we can see that teamwork play a definitely significant role in this game. Moreover, team composition is more important, because each team may gain same chance to win with same money, same experience even same equipment. However the only difference is the different composition of each team, which means different skills' corporation, different roles every character play in each team, and different strategies to win. In fact this is the key to victory.

Besides, there are many standard to define team composition, such as different positions in a team, different fuctions for team, even different lines to start at beginning of the game. First of all, let us start for positions. In Dota, there are five positions for each role according to the limitation for team members. However, this is not as simple as ranking from the first to the fifth. This composition shows different financial sources every role can get from the team in a game and the importance of the character. For an example, the first position will get most abundent money source to get its best equipments as soon as possible, on the other hand it should support the whole team output and carry the whole team to victory. And the second role usually plays solo in the middle line and hold a good pace of the team to make sure whole team has enough strength in the begining, mid-term, and the later period. Then the third and forth are often good at controlling which means they have stunning or freezing skills that can make enemy heros out of control for a few second. At last, the terminal position is responsible for supporting whole team in every details, such as buying a delivery chicken, controlling whole map vision, giving enough controling skills, even replacing the leader of team to be killed. Meanwhile, the lines standard frequently correspond with this standard closely. For instance, the first position, the carrier, always goes to the down-line, while the second always chooses the mid-line. Then different auxiliary roles choose its best companies to show best performance to go to the same line.

On the other hand, there is another criterion to illustrate the team composition, the fuctions of different roles.  Firstly, the tank is a very important role in a team, which often bears most of output from enemy when two team meet. So tank characters should be strength type heros, who have more HP to undertake as more output as possible. This can decrease the potential of the death of team members. Secondly, the output, in other word, the leader, who often is agile type heros, produce as much output to enemy as possible. And it should keep alive after most of wars, so it can lead whole team to victory. Then the mage, who is good at magic skills to hurt enemies or control them, plays an important role in a team as well. At last but not least, the auxiliaries, who are feeble roles in a game because they are likely to be killed if they meet enemy alone, make sence when they take their responsibilities well to hold vision, control enemy and exc.

First topic: Team Compositions

According to the defination of wikipedia, the Team Composition is the characteristics of the people in a team, who have a same goal. Thus, in a game, the team composition means that the performance of different characters in a same team, which shows everyone's contribution, collaboration, and leadership . Nowadays, there are more and more games emphasis the importance of groupwork just like what we are going to show you in different games laterly. In these blogs, you will see how different characters cooperate with each other to use better skills, release more damage to enermies, and perform better to achieve their objective. Althrough in different games there will be different members, different consideration on how to construct the composition, and different function for the composition, all these are used to gain a same goal, to win the game. So when you follow our blogs on this topic, you may find more meaning of a team and get a better understanding of why we always have great passion on games!
